With the Umpire Placement Course, you have the opportunity to join a long list of accomplished umpires that have reached success in Affiliated and Independent/Summer Collegiate Baseball that are among our graduates. Since the Northwoods League’s inception in 1994, 163 Northwoods League umpire alumni have moved on to work in Minor League Baseball and Independent Professional Baseball, with 35 currently active. Out of the 288 umpires currently in Minor League Baseball, 1 in every 7 umpires got their start in the Northwoods League. Malachi Moore, who was a 2011 Northwoods League umpire, was the home plate umpire for the 2018 MiLB All-Star Future’s Game. He is also on staff as one of 2 instructors (Reed Basner) that are Northwoods League alumni at the Wendelstedt Umpire School. Minor League Baseball Umpire Development (MiLBUD) has 3 Field Evaluator/Instructors that are former Northwoods League umpires. In addition to the Northwoods League alumni that have moved on to professional baseball, numerous umpires have also moved on to umpire in NCAA Baseball. No other camp or league can compete with those numbers. With these proven results, the Umpire Placement Course is the right call if you're seeking to further your umpiring career.
